Adult Programs
Peaceful Acres Horses, Inc. serves adults who are struggling with transitions in their lives. Many of PAH adult participants contact us because they are looking to find peace, balance and clarity through a transition or life changing event. Serving mostly women, the farm acts as a catalyst for change – a place where the women identify grief and loss or perhaps past trauma that they would like to let go of. The process of working in Equine Assisted Experiential Learning allows the participant to become authentic with their needs, desires and abilities. Establishing relationships with the horses mirrors relationships in their lives, the activities then become metaphors for real life experiences or emotions that they are looking to enhance or change.
Adult EGEL programs (Equine Guided Experiential Learning) offer an experience that is molded specifically for the participant, it is not a “cookie cutter” form of “therapy”. Most of the work done is based on enhancing the participant’s authentic self and strength based qualities. The horses begin to accept them as leaders and trust worthy as they become self assured and empowered.
