Mini Donkeys: Esther, Ezra, Aries, Teddy, JJ, Mary, Manju

How mini donkeys end up in the slaughter pipeline is beyond me – they are as sweet as they come and yet are in danger of slaughter because of the meat market and also the donkey hide market in China. Hundreds of thousands of donkeys are slaughtered annually for a ridiculous trade for medicinal purposes for people. I’ve done this work now since 2005 and the cruelty inflicted upon equines is pervasive and is not getting any better as time goes on. As for Mary and her son Manju, Esther and her son Esra, JJ – June’s son, Teddy and Ariel and her daughter Aries, they are safe for life in our care at Peaceful Acres Horses. We met these precious momma donkeys in a kill lot, some were very ill with pneumonia and some were alone after their moms shipped to slaughter.  The babies are left to die a painful, lonely death in a kill lot with no medical care, these young babies die of illnesses that are rampant at the auctions and kill lots.

Our little donkeys are the smile someone needs when they are losing hope, they are the joy someone needs when they have received some bad news, they are the laugh someone needs when they just can’t find their happiness anymore. Our mini donkeys are here for their lifetimes and they are helping people to surpass grief, loss, trauma and emotional hurdles.  Our little donkeys are precious and we are keeping our promises to them here at Peaceful Acres Horses.
